2 critical insights about B2B marketing
I’m a marketer and founder from when I was 14.
I built several businesses, I did marketing for them, and then I either sold them or shut down.
That’s how I learned marketing and sales. I had to burn my own money and time doing this.
During the last 10 years, I learned 2 key things that changed my perspective and the way I’m doing marketing today:
1. B2B marketing isn’t B2C marketing
B2C marketing works “only with ads” because of impulsive purchases.
You like that jacket, you have the money, you buy it.
But it’s not the same for software or hiring a design agency.
That’s why paid ads only aren’t working for B2B marketing.
2. Marketing isn’t advertising
If you’re spending money on some marketing tactics.
You’re doing advertising, not marketing.
Marketing requires a deep customer understanding.
Advertising requires keywords, placements, and a budget.
B2B marketing changed vs 10 years ago. The ones who rule the game now, are the ones who adapted.
