Talk about and agitate a real problem
I’ts my job to show the “bad side”. That’s how I can make people realize the current situation is not good at all, and there’s a better way.

Show I’m able to solve that painful problem
I can talk about the problem for months. If they don’t see me as a solution, it’s pointless and I’ll never be able to have a chance to capture the demand I create.

This is often a missed step. By showing them how it’s life without the problem, they will have a complete overview and my solution will become a “no-brainer”.
